Fiio have recently been releasing some very exciting products and this is the latest and greatest! This is a 24 Bit R2R resistor/ladder DAC which is technology that is usually used in MUCH more expensive designs. This type of DAC is known to be smoother, less mechanical and more organic sounding versus traditional off the shelf DAC chips.

We had a good listen to this unit and if it was $1,000 more expensive it would still be good value. Sounds fantastic and has a good variety of inputs and outputs to suit almost any scenario that you may have. If you were looking at the more affordable K11 R2R, the K13 is well worth the upcharge. It is a much better performing unit. In the world of audio the K13 R2R is still an absoluteley unbeatable bargain.
