This is a nicely upgraded portable CD player from Fiio. It can be used either in the context of a home stereo system or on the go equally well. The DM15 features a 4 channel 24 bit R2R ladder resistor DAC which produces a more natural sound signature as compared to off the shelf chips commonly used in digital players. You are getting a nice taste of the type of sound quality that would normally cost thousands, not hundreds of dollars.

In addition to the upgraded DAC, this unit has balanced output for headphones and more power to drive more demanding headphones and earphones, an upgraded display and upgraded casework. The “desktop mode” is also better suited to ripping your CD’s to hard drive if that is something that is of interest. A remote control is also included in the box which comes in handy for home use.
